Moving to a new device

Taking your content with you​

The Panels folder on your device is not included in your iPhone backup. Copy it somewhere safe before you erase your old device.

As explained in how libraries work, Panels keeps its default library in Files → On my iPhone/iPad → Panels.

Before wiping your old device, save a copy of that Panels folder somewhere — your Mac, an external drive, or AirDrop the whole folder straight to the new device.

Then, on the new device:

  1. Install Panels.
  2. Open the Files app and go to On my iPhone/iPad → Panels.
  3. Drop in the content from your old device.
  4. Open Panels. It will start reading and indexing everything.
tip

Using iCloud Drive or OPDS? There's nothing to copy — just set the library up again on the new device and your content is there.

Locked content is hidden from the file system, so unlock anything you want to copy before you start.

Taking your reading progress with you​

Your reading sessions travel through your Panels account, not through the files.

Sign in on your old device (if you aren't already) and give it a moment to finish uploading. Then sign in with the same account on the new device and it will download everything.

There's no way to transfer sessions manually — the account is the only route.
